Autocar Introduces Legal Payload Solution
Atlanta, GA - Autocar, the first name in American commercial trucks and the industry
leader in alternative fuel severe-service Class 8 trucks, is showing two trucks in booth
#4375 at Waste Expo. Held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta this year
with exhibits open May 4, 5 and 6, Waste Expo is North America’s largest solid waste and
recycling tradeshow serving both the private and public sectors.
As Autocar continues its legacy of innovation in the transportation industry, we are
producing exciting new products that deliver where it matters – Environmentally, Efficiently,
and Economically. With respect for the environment and the conservation of our natural
resources, Autocar has a commitment to the environment that drives us to be the Green
Leader in severe duty truck manufacturing.
Autocar is pleased to announce that at Waste Expo 2010 we will be showing our refusefocused
ACX low-cab chassis with the new Cummins ISX 11.9 engine. The combination
of these two products results in a package that delivers class leading performance and
reliability to the refuse industry.
Configured as a Residential Front Loader, the ACX show truck features the ISX engine, a
40yard front loader body, and an automated collection can. This combination represents
the industries’ worst case scenario from a vehicle weight and distribution perspective, but
Autocar is excited to announce that this truck accomplishes fully legal axle loadings and a
10-Ton payload without sacrificing any features or durability.
The Cummins ISX is an all-new 11.9 liter heavy-duty diesel engine that will replace the
popular ISM product line. Available in ratings from 320HP/1050lb-ft to 385HP/1450lb-ft
with refuse specific engine programming, the ISX has the power to serve in all refuse
applications, while offering the economy that haulers have come to expect.
The Autocar ACX chassis has been refined to integrate this new engine and to optimize
overall vehicle performance. Component design upgrades have resulted in a lighter, more
durable chassis, while well-executed 2010 emission compliant exhaust systems allow for
mounting of all commercially available body systems. Specific attention has been focused
on weight distribution to maximize payload capabilities while respecting regional and
national weight regulations. Can you imagine how favorable your weight distribution will
be if you choose the even-lighter ISL 9 liter engine?
These benefits, combined with the ACX’s spacious, ergonomic cab, available integrated
body controls, and overall industry expertise make Autocar the chassis of choice!
