Atlanta, GA - Autocar, the first name in American commercial trucks and the industry
leader in alternative fuel severe-service Class 8 trucks, is showing two trucks in booth
#4375 at Waste Expo. Held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta this year
with exhibits open May 4, 5 and 6, Waste Expo is North America’s largest solid waste and
recycling tradeshow serving both the private and public sectors.
As Autocar continues its legacy of innovation in the transportation industry, we are
producing exciting new products that deliver where it matters – Environmentally, Efficiently,
and Economically. With respect for the environment and the conservation of our natural
resources, Autocar has a commitment to the environment that drives us to be the Green
Leader in severe duty truck manufacturing.
Recently, one of the leading hauling companies in the waste industry increased their
Natural Gas fleet by 226 units and again selected Autocar as their sole supplier. With the
addition of these units, Autocar is now approaching the 1000th Natural Gas chassis
production mark in the past 18 months. “Natural Gas powered garbage trucks are not a
California thing anymore. We are seeing more and more interest from fleets in every
geographical region and segment of the refuse market,” says Joe LaSpina, Executive
Director of Sales for Autocar.
The Autocar Xpeditor is not a newcomer to Natural Gas technology. Autocar has been
investing in natural gas refuse applications for over 15 years, and since 2007 has been
certified for the IRS Qualified Alternative Fuel Motor Vehicle Tax Credit of $32,000.
Autocar did not grow to be the industry leader in Natural Gas simply by building trucks.
Growing takes time, investment and risk. It’s not just the installs; it’s evaluating and
partnering with the right people for tanks, valves, plumbing and filling infrastructure. It’s
knowing which body applications in which regions of the country require special set-ups for
gradability and startability for proper performance on the route. It means being on the
street with the trucks, listening to the drivers, technicians and operations personnel. It
means being flexible and willing to make changes with changing technology. It means
choosing Autocar!
