Autocar leads the way
The Autocar name has been synonymous with innovation in truck design for more than a century. From engines and suspensions to cab design, Autocar continues to lead the way - we're changing the paradigm of building Class 8 trucks for the refuse business.
Nowhere is this more apparent than in our showcase vehicle, the Xpeditor. When Autocar acquired the nameplate in 2001, it had a well-established record of performance and reliability. Since then, we've added improvements that have made the Xpeditor name synonymous with innovation, including ergonomically redesigned cabs with dashboard-integrated body switches and controls, unmatched body-chassis integration technology, and a host of other improvements, from axles to grilles.
At the 2006 Las Vegas WasteExpo, Autocar presented a prototype of a revolutionary refuse truck - the E3 - powered by an innovative hybrid-drive system developed by Parker-Hannifin.
